The Mast Cell Activation Disorder (MCAD) Package is designed for clients who have been diagnosed with — or believe they meet the criteria for Mast Cell Activation Disorder, which may include tyramine, histamine and /or oxylate intolerance.
In conjunction with your physicians(s), we will help assess whether you meet the clinical criteria for Mast Cell Activation Disorder. Based on the most current literature in this relatively new field, we use a screening questionnaire that has been developed in consultation with a local-area allergist that treats this disorder. By providing our clinical evaluation to specialists, we have been able to play a significant role in them obtaining an MCAD diagnosis and most importantly, begin on a treatment plan.
If you plan on taking a Complete Assessment Package, this package would need to be taken first.
Once you’ve been diagnosed with MCAD, we can also support your specific needs by helping to determine foods — or classes of foods that may underlie mast-cell degranulation in your case. We will use a combination of Time-Food-Time-Symptom journals and selective tyramine, histamine and/or oxylate limiting to discontinue specific foods that underlie your symptoms. We will also work with you and your doctor in terms of timing of H1/H2 antihistamines and mast-cell stabilization medication (if used) relative to when you eat and if needed, will assist in the referral to a local-area allergist that is knowledgeable with respect to mast cell disorders.
