Specialty Packages – GI Disorders and Food Sensitivities

Category:

Description

Specialty Packages are for those with various GI disorders (IBD, IBS, Celiac disease, SIBO) and for those who suspect they may have food sensitivities, food allergies or food intolerance.

The Food Sensitivity / Food Allergy Package is a specialty package designed for clients who have been either been diagnosed with food allergies by a physician, or who suspect they may be sensitized to certain foods or to components of foods. This package includes three (3) visits of an hour each which may be combined to total 3 hours of service.

The Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Package is designed for clients who have been diagnosed with Inflammatory Bowel Disease such as Crohn’s Disease or Ulcerative Colitis and want to know what to eat to minimize the symptoms during ‘flare ups’, and then how to progressively begin eating a more normalized diet once flare ups have resolved, and which reduce the likelihood of discomfort.

The Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) Package is designed for clients who have had clinical conditions such as Inflammatory Bowel Disorder (Crohn’s, Colitis etc.) and Celiac disease ruled out, or who need to have them ruled out and who require support to determine which foods or food components and/or beverages are contributing to their ongoing, unpleasant gastrointestinal symptoms.

The Celiac Disease Management Package provides 3 hours of nutrition education that is specifically designed to cover each of the topics listed on the Canadian Celiac Association’s web page, and in sufficient detail so as to enable a newly diagnosed Celiac to safely select foods and ingredients at home and away from home, while enjoying a normal lifestyle. This package is not limited to those newly-diagnosed as many who have been diagnosed for some time (or those who need to avoid gluten for other reasons) often have ‘gaps’ in what they know. These ‘gaps’ may result in them eating foods or drinking beverages that have gluten in them, or in eating gluten-free foods in restaurants or at friend’s houses that are no longer gluten free, due to cross contamination.

The Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO) Support Package is designed for clients who have had clinical conditions such as Inflammatory Bowel Disorder (Crohn’s, Colitis etc.) and Celiac disease ruled out, and who have been — or are in the process of being diagnosed with SIBO. This package provides dietary support during the three phases of treatment; Phase I: prior to taking antimicrobials, Phase II: while taking antimicrobials, Phase III: after completion of one round of antimicrobials.
