Hypothyroid Management Package

The Hypothyroid Management Package is for those newly diagnosed with hypothyroidism (Hashimoto’s) who want to decrease their symptoms, normalize their weight, and optimize nutrients of importance in hypothyroidism.

Note: If you have a family history of hypothyroidism or other autoimmune conditions, and suspect you may meet the criteria, please send me a note through the Contact Me form. In such cases, I can help you work with your doctor (or a walk-in clinic) to have lab tests requisitioned based on your family risk factors and symptoms that may be consistent with that diagnosis.

The package is broken down into four separate and dated hourly services, with the last session being a specialized nutrition education session that focuses on Nutrients of Importance in Hypothyroidism.

The four sessions are as follows;

1. In-depth clinical assessment: review of personal and family medical history, recent lab results, current medications and nutritional supplements, and a comprehensive dietary and lifestyle review.

2. Design of an Individual Meal Plan: is based on information collected in the clinical assessment with a focus on dietary intake of foods high in nutrients of importance in hypothyroidism. Turnaround time until the Meal Plan is designed is ~2 weeks from the completion of the clinical assessment, and receipt of any additional requested information.

3. Nutrition Education Session: review of weight/waist circumference, recommendations based on recent lab test results, risk of other autoimmune conditions, dietary and lifestyle recommendations, and teaching of the Individual Meal Plan including serving sizes, number of portions, and how to make substitutions. A customized and detailed, multi-page nutrition education handout summarizing the teaching is provided along with a printout of your Meal Plan to make implementing it easy.

4. Nutrients and Foods of Importance in Hypothyroidism: includes types and timing of different supplements relative to thyroid medication, as well as nutrient-medication interactions, and nutrient-nutrient interactions.
