Healthy Aging Package

One of my passions is helping middle-aged and older adults maintain their health as they age, especially in retaining their muscle and bone mass.

The Healthy Aging Package was initially designed for healthy older adults who didn’t have any health conditions and who had normal current lab test results. It has recently been expanded to include those with well-managed type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, or elevated cholesterol and current lab results within normal range* by using the Routine Clinical add-on option. Dietary support aimed at improving these conditions through dietary and lifestyle changes is part of a comprehensive healthy aging strategy.

*For middle-aged and older adults who have routine health conditions, but whose lab results are not yet within lab normal values, the Comprehensive Dietary Package is the place to begin.

Nourishing ourselves as we age is necessary.

The Healthy Aging Package is broken down into four separate, dated hourly services, which are as follows.

1. In-depth clinical assessment: a review of personal and family medical history, recent lab results, current medications and nutritional supplements, and a comprehensive dietary and lifestyle review.

2. Design of an Individual Meal Plan is based on information collected in the clinical assessment and focused on retaining bone and muscle mass. Turnaround time until the Meal Plan is designed is ~2 weeks from the completion of the clinical assessment and receipt of any additional requested information.

3. Nutrition Education Session: review of weight/waist circumference, recommendations related to recent lab test results, dietary and lifestyle recommendations with a focus on maintaining both muscle and bone mass. Teaching your Meal Plan includes serving sizes, number of portions, and how to make substitutions. To make implementing your Meal Plan easy, a detailed, multi-page nutrition education handout summarizing this teaching is provided along with your Meal Plan.

4. Two follow-up sessions for coaching: option to combine both sessions into one visit for review of progress and Meal Plan adjustments.
